Inclusive Experiences reshape community environments—businesses, parks, events, recreation centers, and cultural spaces—so children with disabilities and their families can participate fully. These activations bring inclusion into real places where families live, play, and gather, helping communities practice belonging
Inclusive Community Experiences combine environmental support, guided participation, and community learning. In practical terms, this can include:
These real-time adaptations show how small, thoughtful changes can make public spaces more welcoming to families raising children with disabilities.
Families raising children with disabilities often avoid community spaces because traditional environments do not meet their needs. Inclusive Community Experiences:
These experiences move inclusion from concept to action—visible, approachable, and community-owned.
In partnership with the Birmingham Park and Recreation Board, we provided inclusive supports at Legion Field for select games during the 2025 football season. Large sporting events can be overwhelming for many people with disabilities, so we introduced sensory tools, calming spaces, and simple environmental supports that helped families participate comfortably.
Fans shared that these adjustments made it possible to attend and enjoy a community event they would typically opt out of. The activation also helped volunteers and staff see in real time how inclusion can be built into existing spaces without major structural changes.
When partners want to extend inclusion beyond a single activation, we offer guidance grounded in what families find most helpful. These conversations can explore:

Inclusive Community Experiences grow through collaboration. Community organizations, businesses, and event hosts work with us to bring inclusion into their spaces in meaningful and practical ways.
Whether exploring a one-time activation or considering steps toward sustained inclusion, we welcome the conversation.

Game days, festivals, and community traditions are where belonging is felt most powerfully — and also where families of children with disabilities are most often pushed out. Inclusive Community Experiences changes that by bringing sensory support vehicles, calm spaces, tools, and trained volunteers directly into high-traffic events.
Your gift transforms public spaces into places where every child can participate with comfort, dignity, and joy.
